Judith-Kate Friedman blends folk, roots, jazz, blues, choral/world music traditions and improvisation with humor, heart, grace and groove. The press has called her a “masterful,” “cinematic” songwriter and a “mesmerizing" vocalist and performer. On stage, she moves deftly between her own classic love songs, historic tales, lyric ballads and stories. An internationally recognized pioneer in arts and health she founded and directs Songwriting Works Educational Foundation. The non-profit brings musicians, elders and families together to compose songs and promote brain and overall health through making music.

Daniel Deardorff is a "Singer" in the old sense of the word, which involves being a musician, a storyteller, and a maker of ritual. A composer, performer, mythologist, author and producer he has performed throughout the U.S. and Canada, in South & Central America and the UK. Daniel's music career spans 4+ decades. He has toured with Seals & Crofts, produced albums for Michael Tomlinson and Tingstad & Rumble, is a long time collaborator with friend and mentor Robert Bly, and authored "The Other Within: The Genius of Deformity in Myth, Culture and Psyche" (North Atlantic, 2008).

Together in life and in performance, Friedman and Deardorff have toured as a duo in the UK, New York and the Western US states. They are pleased to offer their first Concert Window event - live from Port Townsend's Key City Playhouse. This special Valentine's performance will focus on the theme of love and Judith-Kate and Daniel offer original and classic love songs and musical settings of poems by Rumi, Robert Bly, Jane Hirschfield and William Stafford.

Funds raised from concert and online ticket sales and tips will benefit the Mossy Rock Tree Fund to defray roof and tree repair costs at Judith-Kate and Danny's home following last December’s wind storms. Additional revenues will benefit the sponsoring non-profit organizations: Songwriting Works Educational Foundation and Key City Public Theatre.
