Who am I and why am I here, in as few words as possible?...My name is Robbie Morris and I'm a banjo, guitar, dobro and mandolin picker. I sing, lead and harmony I have played all over America in living rooms coast to coast, and porches and patios from sunup to sundown..

I come from a large and very musical family on both my mom and dads side. One from southwest Virginia (that we have documented back to the Revolutionary War) and the other in central Missouri. I come from a family of 6 (I'm the youngest) and everybody sings, and some play the piano. And I recall singing in church with all 6 of them when I was about 6-7 years old. I remember the nervousness to this day!!.. But I've been playing an instrument since I was about 8 or 9. I grew up playing traditional bluegrass and country music with my best friend and dad. And I'm so incredibly lucky and blessed, that we have played music together for 40 years! He has also written an absolute ton of songs, some of which you might have listened to here.

Growing up I also played in different rock or country bands that you've never heard of. I don't do that anymore but I have always played traditional bluegrass as much as time allows. By day I'm a Senior Healthcare Technology Exec, at night I'm a cape wearing, crime fighting super hero...no no no... I'm just kidding...well....I'm kidding about the nighttime part.

I've been in Nashville for 17 years now and have never explored playing music in my portion of Music City. So in 2014 I decided it was time to change that!

I am a member of ASCAP and IBMA –I'll be working on songs when I can and will post them when I think they are good enough.
Ahhh.... Now doesn't that feel better now that we aren't complete strangers? I hope you enjoyed that little trip down Robbie lane.. I know I sure feel better.

What say you?...What do you like to hear?

Thanks for your support and for playing along!

Cheers!
Robbie
