  • toojuls: Yes!
  • pickens-hall: Thanks everybody. Not sure what's up with the system right now. (We did an hour long test earlier).
  • pickens-hall: Will do a full restart and reset over intermission. Hope to get those gremlins out
  • toojuls: No worries, it happens. I'll hang in till the end.
  • tracy-hicks: Say hi to the guys for us! Tracy & Julia!
  • pickens-hall: See you all back around 8:10-8:15
  • pickens-hall: Ok - think we have it all figured out - the computer and internet lag seem to have been caused by an scheduled backup - not sure yet what was wrong with the mic's we went through 3 of our 5 options during the first set!
  • pickens-hall: But the primary mic is back online and levels look good.
  • toojuls: Ok I have sound pretty clear now
  • toojuls: Thank you!
  • pickens-hall: Ok. People are starting to filter back in and pre set tuning is going on. Should be starting back up again soon
  • tracy-hicks: 100% better!
  • pickens-hall: Galen is at the piano now. Auto camera rotation may crop him out occasionally
  • toojuls: it's much better - video and sound!
  • tracy-hicks: This would be appropriate for TRB, since it's going out of New Orleans next year!
  • toojuls: They better be on that boat! I didn't see them in the lineup for RBTS Lite.
  • tracy-hicks: Seriously. I mentioned that the Beth, but the response was non-committal.
  • toojuls: I'm gonna miss seeing them on this tour. They are in Nashville 6 days before me, then in Gainesville while I'm flying back - ugh!
  • tracy-hicks: We've got a lot in Tampa coming up, though. so it's not so bad. I'm so excited about The Roosevelts, and Will Hoge?
  • tracy-hicks: Out of control!
  • toojuls: Yes, nice consolation1
  • toojuls: Oop there goes the sound again
  • toojuls: refreshed
  • pickens-hall: Work again?
  • toojuls: yes all good
  • tracy-hicks: <#
  • tracy-hicks: That was supposed to be a heart, but I'm tipsy and typing definitely loses it's accuracy.
  • toojuls: hahaha love it!
  • tracy-hicks: AAAAaaaahhhh! This is my song!
  • tracy-hicks: I feel like this song is totally about my anxiety issues.
  • toojuls: I can relate
  • toojuls: They look animatronic
  • tracy-hicks: The newest presidents in Epcot
  • toojuls: hahaha
  • tracy-hicks: Yes!
  • toojuls: Woohoo!!!
  • pickens-hall: Sorry off the cameras but I hope the audio is coming through

Pickens Hall is an old country store with one floor of business and two floors of music located in Heuvelton NY. It has begun to build a name for itself as a place by and for musicians with monthly bluegrass and folk jams open to the public and anyone interested in trying to pick out a tune.

Pickens also hosts regular concerts, featuring a diverse set of artists from Peter Karrie (Phantom of the Opera, London), to Runaway home (modern folk out of Nashville) to Don Woodcock (a local favorite and NYS grand champion fiddle player).

For a brief history of the building, which is pretty amazing, check out the Heuvelton Historic Associations webpage:

Of course if you want the full story (which includes an explanation of how they got a cow up to the third floor opera house for a live production) you will have to stop by and visit
