  • How does the money side work?
    After your show, we send you 70% of the total revenue and we keep 30%. We pay within 24 hours of showtime via PayPal or check (you can specify on your Artist Dashboard). There is zero cost for you to set up a show and we absorb the PayPal/check fees.
  • What kind of equipment do I need?
    Just a laptop or computer with a built-in camera and microphone, plus a good internet connection (we recommend at least 1 mbps upload speed. Test here.) If you can make a Skype call, you can perform a Concert Window show. Our website has a built-in broadcaster so you literally play into your laptop. If you want higher quality, you can add a USB camera and microphone (here are some recommendations). Or, if you really want to get fancy, you can use a pro camera setup and we'll give you an xml file. Take the Broadcaster for a spin.
  • Do I need to do this from a venue?
    Nope. You can do a Concert Window webshow from anywhere with a solid internet connection. Whether that's your living room, a friend's place, a tour bus, or a venue, it's completely up to you.
  • How long should I play for?
    Most artists play for about 35-45 minutes, but there's no limit, so play as long as you like! If you're doing your webcast from a preexisting venue show that has an intermission, we recommend that you mute the sound during the intermission.
  • When is a good day/time to play?
    It really depends on who your fans are and where they're located. When choosing a show time, try to think about timezones (if you have fans outside of your own), and when your fan base is likely to be home and awake!
  • How do I get on the homepage?
    We have a full-time editor that selects artists for our homepage, but we can't feature everyone! We can guarantee that your show will be considered, but we can't guarantee that you'll make it onto the homepage. If you don't get on the homepage the first time, you'll still be considered the next time you play!
  • Isn’t it weird to play to an empty screen?
    If this is your first webshow, it probably seems a little strange. But wait until you do it. You'll have a blast. It's really fun to see your friends and fans tuning in from around the word, and you can see their chats while you're playing. Often people will make requests and ask questions. The more interactive the show, the more fun it'll be.
  • Do you record the shows?
    Yes, we give the artist a private recording after the show for non-commercial use. There's no cost to the artist, and the artist always owns the rights.
  • Does it cost me anything to do a Concert Window show?
    Nope! It's totally free.
  • How do my fans view my webshow?
    They can watch on almost any device – laptops, desktops, tablets, and smartphones. You'll get a link to your show page that you can share with your fans.
  • How does the ticketing work?
    You can set the price for your show. We recommend "pay what you want" ticketing, which has a minimum of $1 and averages over $10 paid per ticket. Don’t forget that people can also tip once they’re watching the show.
  • Can I play cover songs?
    Yes, you can play whatever you’d like. We have licensing deals in place with BMI, ASCAP, and SESAC.
  • Can I reschedule/cancel my show?
    Yes, you can easily cancel or reschedule your show directly from the Artist Dashboard. However, remember that your fans may be expecting and planning on tuning into your show - some may have even already bought tickets. We take great care and pride in the reliability and curation of our site, so please only cancel or reschedule if it's completely necessary.
  • What happens after my webshow is over?
    We'll pay you within 24 hours and send you a recap email showing how many people bought tickets, gave tips, viewed the show, and more. Additionally, we'll give you a free subscription to Concert Window so you can catch as many shows as you’d like.
  • What happens if something goes wrong and the show doesn't work?
    We have a 100% satisfaction refund policy. If something goes wrong, on either our end or yours, we will refund all tickets, no questions asked. People can also individually request refunds at any time. You won't be liable for any costs or fees. Our goal, of course, is for everything to work smoothly!
