My favorite thing about this show was listening to Jennifer Knapp talk about the ideas behind the songs and hearing Mr. Gray, Stone to the River and If It Made a Difference live.

What was your favorite part of the performance? I love it when Jen shares the story behind the songs - what inspired them, where she was coming from, what she was trying to convey. Those stories, along with the live performance make the album come alive in an enriching way. I'm loving this series!

Award winning singer-songwriter Jennifer Knapp has an impressive history including selling over one million albums with her previous releases Kansas (debut 1998, Gold-certified), Lay It Down (2000), and The Way I Am (2001). She is the winner of 4 Dove Awards and has received 2 Grammy nominations. The Kansas-born musician toured the globe with artists such as Jars of Clay and was featured on the Lilith Fair Tour in 1999 and again in 2010.  Knapp received critical acclaim with The Los Angeles Times calling her "a rising star" and People Magazine describing her as "an uncommonly literate songwriter."
With a considerable fan base and critical and commercial successes, Knapp walked away from music in 2002 at the height of her career.  After a seven-year hiatus she returned in 2010 with a renewed passion for music showcased in her album Letting Go, which debuted at No.73 on the Billboard Hot 200 Chart. Solidifying her return to a music career set on her own terms, in 2014 she released Set Me Free, on Righteous Babe Records.
Knapp’s earthy rock sound and catchy melodies are accompanied by poetic lyrics that paint her songs with candid emotions. She has an honest and straightforward style that has justifiably earned her comparisons to Sheryl Crow, Natalie Merchant and Melissa Etheridge.
