Here are our top tips on lighting!

  1. Don’t light the performer from the back. This will silhouette them on screen and result in the internet audience not being able to see them properly. Make sure the light source is coming from the front so that the performer is clearly visible.

  2. Don’t get all ambient with the lights. Ambient lighting feels and looks great in the room, but it doesn't translate well to the broadcast. If the room is dark, make sure you have a spot light on the performer. You don’t need to go and buy a pro light rig, just get creative. We have seen some great results from DIY approaches. Sitting a desk lamp off screen at the correct angle can look a million times better than you’d think.
