21-yearold Ingrid Andress was raised in Highlands Ranch, CO, and is currently a fifth semester scholarship student at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. She is studying as a dual major in Songwriting and Performance.

At a very young age, Ingrid expressed a strong interest in singing, playing drums, and writing her own songs on piano. Although music was her passion, she pursued athletics, modeling, and academics while attending Rock Canyon High School.

Although music was always her favorite pastime, she thought her main calling was competing in high-level sports, in hopes of receiving a college scholarship. Still, even with club sports practice and tournaments, Ingrid managed to fit music into her life by joining the high school’s top Chamber and Jazz choirs, playing lead roles in the musicals, and eventually being accepted into the Colorado All-State Jazz choir, and the Colorado All-State Women’s Choir.

During her final year of high school, Ingrid made the very last minute decision to pursue music as a career. Despite her lack of knowledge for the music industry, she believed her passion for performing and songwriting would take her somewhere. In an attempt to learn as much as possible before college, she dropped out of every sport and began immersing herself in vocal lessons and piano. It was then that she applied for Berklee College of Music, and was accepted with a North American Tour Scholarship.

Since being accepted into Berklee, Ingrid has been blessed with many opportunities to further her career. In her first semester, she was accepted into Berklee’s only a cappella group, Pitch Slapped. The group was then featured on the NBC television show The Sing-Off, Season 2, where she performed as one of the soloists for the group. That same season, she was also featured by NBC in the 2010 Macy’s Day Parade in order to promote the show. NBC/Sony Entertainment also released multiple albums, which included several solos sang by Ingrid, one of which received a CARA Nomination.

As fate would have it, Ingrid appeared once again on NBC’s The Sing-Off, Season 3, with the all-female a cappella group, Delilah. Taking sixth place, the group is currently making an album and will be touring later in the year 2012.

Aside from the a cappella world, Ingrid is continually learning something new about music from those around her in school. Songwriting is the newest addition to her musical agenda, and she is currently working on an EP. Her main writing genre is pop/rock, but she hopes to expand into other genres in the future. She also is practicing her jokes, because she has the dangerous illusion that she’s funny, somehow.

To have a career as a singer/songwriter/actor would absolutely blow her mind.
