I love RJ and was excited to see hopefully her second set but when I signed on around 10:15, the show was over. I was upset for being late but disappointed that I had to sign onto see the gear being broken down...

Rebecca Jean Smith has landed and placed her bags in Boston, MA. Her latest album, Ode to the Ghost Rose, can been heard as a collection of shadowy tales.

Ode to the Ghost Rose follows a successful debut record, Roundabout, which revolved around stories of love and loss. Oliver Wood, of The Wood Brothers, co-produced and brought his personal touch to the project with his extraordinary guitar talents. Other special guests included Karl Denson on sax, Ron Johnson on bass, David Blackmon on fiddle and Matt Bivens on accordion. Folk artist and drummer Yonrico Scott, of the Derek Trucks Band, created the album’s artwork.

The Ode, an experimental collection of inter-related tales, springs from a work in progress/concept album named The Story of the Ghost Rose- Exploring impulse, desire, and madness.

Rebecca Jean has had the pleasure of opening for great groups including New Riders of the Purple Sage and The Wood Brothers and Col. Bruce Hampton w/The Code Talkers to name a few.

Enjoy.
