For Boston based vocalist Valerie Giglio, its all about bringing that old-school sound back and pairing it with contemporary elements of today's pop music. Singing across many genres from Jazz/Blues to Classic Rock, R&B, and dance tunes - she developed an ability to combine these genres in her delivery and performance as an energetic lead singer. In 2009, she released her first CD entitled "Songbook", a collection of her favorite standards from the Great American Songbook reinterpreted in her own unique style.

Her second release in 2011 is a CD entitled "The Italian Project", an Italian-themed collection of classic swing, blues, as well as contemporary pop cover tunes - showcasing even more of her ability, range, and depth as an vocalist while also staying true to her retro styling. Valerie is a voting member of The Recording Academy (Grammy's) and the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP).

In June 2014, after rehearsing for her appearance at Chick Singer Night Boston’s 10th anniversary show, Valerie suffered a major stroke, which paralyzed her entire left side from head to toe as well as her left vocal cord, resulting in a total loss of her singing voice and confining her to a wheelchair. Over the last year, she has relearned to walk and sing with the help of Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston and the Real School of Music in Burlington. The show will be one of Valerie’s first shows since the stroke as she continues to work her way back to the stage and regain her singing voice. This one hour live performance at Dreamworld Productions on June 14, 2014 will consist of various Jazz and Pop songs performed by Valerie as well as an artist interview about her amazing journey and recovery.
