Bio

Tatiana Hargreaves has steeped herself in the archives of Appalachian music and song playing fiddle, banjo and singing. She has performed at festivals including the Savannah Music Festival, Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Pickathon music festival, Portland Oldtime Gathering, Berkeley Old-Time Music Gathering, and Blackpot Cajun Cooking and Music Festival and has appeared on stage with oldtime... more

Tatiana Hargreaves has steeped herself in the archives of Appalachian music and song playing fiddle, banjo and singing. She has performed at festivals including the Savannah Music Festival, Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Pickathon music festival, Portland Oldtime Gathering, Berkeley Old-Time Music Gathering, and Blackpot Cajun Cooking and Music Festival and has appeared on stage with oldtime and bluegrass musicians including Bruce Molsky, Darol Anger, Rushad Eggleston, The Punch Brothers, Mark O'Connor, Uncle Earl, Sara Watkins, Crooked Still, Laurie Lewis and Tom Rozum. In both 2012 and 2013, Tatiana was selected to participate in the Acoustic Music Seminar at the Savannah Music Festival to explore composition and traditional music. In 2009, she placed first at the Clifftop Appalachian String Band Festival Fiddle Contest in West Virginia and also received an American String Teachers' Association (ASTA) Alternative Styles Award. Her first album "Started Out to Ramble" was produced by Bruce Molsky, and was released by Patuxent Music in 2009. Other albums Tatiana has played on include Pharis and Jason Romero’s CD “Back-Up and Push,” and Nate Leath’s “Rockville Pike.” Tatiana also plays classical music, most recently performing the first movement of the Beethoven Violin Concerto in D Major, op. 61 with the Corvallis Youth Symphony in December 2012. Tatiana currently studies at Hampshire College in Amherst, MA.
