Helene's musical style crosses genres of Americana, Folk and Country. She just considers it: Female, Acoustic, Singer/songwriter tunes. She performs on guitar, but uses both piano and guitar as writing instruments. People compare her style to Mary Chapin Carpenter, Alison Krauss or Shawn Colvin but her sound is uniquely her own. In recent years, Helene has been writing for the Country music market and traveling to Nashville on a regular basis. She has a dual purpose in mind, singing and writing songs for herself as the artist, and writing songs for the commercial market that major artists might want to record.

Her most obvious success has come about because of her song "Lucky Me". She wrote the song after an encounter with a soldier at the Nashville airport. When it became obvious just how emotionally moving the song was to audiences who heard it, Helene's sister created a video around it, and posted it to YouTube. The popularity of the video led to an appearance on the Mike Huckabee Show on FoxTV in front of a national audience. She has been invited to perform the song for military events, especially for American Airlines and their Veterans Initiatives division. Helene has appeared on stage for programs which also included Darryl Worley, Gary Sinise, Dennis Haysbert and Tony Orlando, all of whom are strong supporters of our U.S. military servicemen and women. A highlight was the opportunity to perform the song for the 150th Anniversary Commemoration of the creation of the Medal Of Honor, in front of 65 of our nation's M.O.H. recipients, and about 15,000 other audience members. Helene plays "Lucky Me" almost every time she performs. She never wants to miss the chance to say thank you to our veterans, current service personnel and their families.
