Always enjoy hearing Anita sing. Her voice is lush and the selection of music was perfect. The band is very accomplished and they are a great match.

Juliet and the Lonesome Romeos’ No Regrets, their debut album released on Nashville-based Tree O Records, marks the emergence of yet another great artist from the fertile Boston music scene. The album is a rich experience of roots-infused pop music, with a nod to the country side, that revolves around Juliet Simmons Dinallo’s rich and soulful voice. The deeply emotional songs travel down the highways and back roads of heartache and hope.

Juliet was born in North Carolina. The family moved to Maine for a short while before returning to Massachusetts, where her parents met at college. Juliet was exposed to the arts and music from birth with both her parents being English literature scholars. Her father studied Shakespeare, hence her name and the album’s song titled “Unkindest Cut”, and her mother was a folk music DJ while at college. With music and literature all around her, it is no wonder Juliet was singing songs by the Beatles as soon as she could walk and talk. With music in her bones, Juliet was singing the entirety of Jesus Christ Superstar on the family’s summer trips to Maine and back as a small child. Juliet attended Sudbury Valley School, which stresses learning through personal experience with a heavy influence on the arts and music, qualities that ring through and true in Juliet’s music to this day. While at SVS, she played in teenage garage bands with her brother. Juliet studied music at the Berklee College of Music in Boston where she landed a spot on the world-renowned Berklee Gospel Choir.

Immersing herself in the eclectic Boston music scene, Juliet collected the experiences and developed the partnerships that would allow her to write the songs on No Regrets. By hanging and playing in the Boston clubs, Juliet honed her vocal style and performing chops, while meeting the musicians who helped her shape the sound and feel of No Regrets. Growing up musically in the Boston clubs helped Juliet transcend her musical influences while maintaining the inspiration they provide, which is an important part of becoming a true artist. Those influences include Patty Griffin, the Beatles, Shawn Colvin, Van Morrison, Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams, Lyle Lovett, and Emmylou Harris.
