In the opening months of 2012 Rory recorded his debut album ‘Naked Trees’ just weeks before his 21st birthday. Soon after its release, Rory went on to win the Danny Kyle award at Glasgow’s Celtic Connections festival, leading to invitations by Donald Shaw to support sell out performances by Rachel Sermanni and Transatlantic Sessions. During that year’s festival, he was also asked by Mary Ann Kennedy to perform on a live BBC Radio 3 session, sharing the stage with established artists such as Ruth Moody and Tim O’Brien. His songs have since been featured n Radio Scotland’s ‘Travelling Folk’ and ‘Global Gatherings’.

Since then Rory has continued to write and perform his songs, and has had the pleasure of supporting artists such as Michael Marra, Eliza Carthy, Sam Lee and Anais Mitchell in some of Scotland’s major music venues. 2012 has also seen Rory perform at some small festivals including a main stage performance at ‘Solas Festival’ and Glasgow’s Mugdock Music Festival. Whilst developing his own music, Rory is also regularly touring the UK and Ireland with Edinburgh band, The Southern Tenant Folk Union.
