With a sound like Joni Mitchell, Ani DiFranco, and Sarah McLachlan – primarily folk, with a bit of jazz and soul thrown in for good measure – Savannah King’s voice has been described by her fans and critics alike as “smokey” and “hauntingly beautiful.” Savannah has recorded two EP’s: Throwing Stones (2010), her most recent, She Sends Her Love (2012), and is currently in the studio recording her third.
Savannah King began her musical pursuit at an early age and discovered her gift of storytelling through songs – songs whose lyrics have been described as deep and well beyond her years. A rising star on the Buffalo, New York music scene, Savannah brings her independent alternative folk sound at its very best to every performance. In addition to headlining her own shows, Savannah has opened the show for many artists such as Sera Cahoone, Field Report, award-winning Canadian country music singer-songwriter Ryan Cook, and Los Angeles musician/singer/songwriter/comedians Mark Eddie and Carlo Vohl. Savannah has performed with Nashville’s talented musician/vocalist Steven Whitson, Los Angeles band The Lion’s drummer Blake Colie, Singer/ songwriter/upright bass player/actress and Archer Records recording artist Amy Lavere, Atlantic/EMI recording artist Ryan Cabrera, Season 7 American Idol finalist Jason Castro, and is proud to collaborate and study under the tutelage of guitar guru virtuoso Ed Supple.
