"She is capable of getting attention with just an acoustic guitar and voice. This is Americana music of the highest quality". John Apice 'No Depression' Magazine (USA)

Donna has been asked if she is a long lost relative of the Carter family. Maybe that's because her song writing and delivery are honest, distinctive and heartfelt like her mother's favorite musical hero, Mother Maybelle Carter. Her mother introduced her to the music of the Carter Family and 'Father of Country Music', Jimmie Rodgers and it seems to have settled deep in her bones. Her mother, an accomplished guitarist with a fine voice, dreamed of one day walking onto the stage of Nashville’'s Grand Ole Opry. Years passed and her mother's dream began to fade while Donna'’s own hopes fanned those embers until fantasies of taking a guitar and her songs to the stage were no longer just a flicker, but a blaze.

Donna has nine tours of Germany to her credit. While touring there Donna has been a feature artist on the same bill as Willie Nelson and opened shows for Texas artists Eric Taylor and Terry Allen. She toured the southwest US in 2013 effortlessly winning over listening room audiences along the way at venues like The Bugle Boy - La Grange,TX, The Blue Door, Oklahoma and The Cinema Bar in Culver City, CA.

She wrote her first song at the age of twelve and went on to write the title track of US Queen of Bluegrass Rhonda Vincent's 2009 Grammy nominated album, 'Destination Life'. Co-writing budddies include Kim Richey U.S.A, Bill Chambers AUS and Dom Mariani AUS.

Donna recorded her first album ‘Destination Life,’ in 1998. Her second,‘Between You & Me,’ was recorded with American country rock bandThe Amazing Rhythm Aces. Her seventh ‘Tyre Tracks & Broken Hearts’, features legendary artists Albert Lee, Amos Garrett, Redd Volkaert and Gurf Morlix. Tyre Tracks & Broken Hearts’ featured on radio WAMU’'s Bluegrass Country Americana Breakdown's ‘Best of Americana Albums of 2012’.
She wrote the title track of 2010 Grammy nominated Bluegrass album 'Destination Life'’ by America'’s Queen of Bluegrass, Rhonda Vincent.

An integral part of the Americana-singer-songwriter scene in New Zealand for more than two decades, Donna has opened shows for Spooner Oldham, Dan Penn, Don Mclean, Jimmy Webb, Eric Bibb, Katy Moffatt and Bert Jansch. Her voice has been described as "aching, haunted, clear and determined" with reviews suggesting a likeness to American artists Carrie Newcomer and Mary Chapin Carpenter.

Summer 2013, Donna was a guest at Nashville songwriters Mecca, The Bluebird Cafe, alongside Australia's Paul Kelly, courtesy of Sounds Australia.
