  • Pirijanian: Hi Val.Thanks a lot for the kind words and the tip.)) As soon as the original songs(or even 1of them) will be ready(and that will be soon) I'll put a translation to it too and send you)
  • Pirijanian: BTW I can't delete your comment// Could you do that??
  • ValR: Per my own request, I can do that. LOL
  • Pirijanian: Hi.Yeah I remember that. The reason is that everything is complicated in the studio,so we can't have the whole song done for now.So I'm waiting for it and then I'll write the English translation to it and send))

Bio

I visit CW looking for singers who sing with the freedom and honesty of Eva Cassidy. IMHO, the lesson of Eva is to sing with your own true unaffected voice. I am taking voice lessons and, even though I'm a guy, my goal is to achieve that same level of freedom and emotion in my own voice. I'm also an amateur songwriter and am very interested in others' original songs.

I'm also an amateur songwriter and am very interested in others' original songs.

I like to support the artists and the venues that support the artists who share these interests. I find that solo instrument and voice most naturally brings out these qualities. I like to help folks get started and tend to be more generous with those just starting. I'm paying it forward, and ask that when you enjoy success, you do the same.

My principle instrument is the Hammond Organ, but there is never one around when you need it, so I've taken up strumming the guitar. I also collect, repair, and maintain Hammond tube organs. That interest has blossomed into a hobby of collecting and repairing vintage electronic test equipment (eBay is the best).

Outside of music, I'm a mariner, with a couple skiffs and a small sailboat. My longest crossing was 2200 nautical miles (LA to LaHaina) and my most recent extended crossing was 500 nautical miles across the Gulf of Alaska, in the Calypso, shown above at Elfin Cove, AK where I stopped for several days to visit a high-school friend. Lest anyone confuse this boat with a "yacht", I assure you that this boat is set up for long distance voyaging, not sitting in the harbor sipping wine. The Spartans and Ascetics would be proud.

I'm also an avid bicyclist. I ride to work every day, summer and winter, Monday through Friday (I am incommunicado for these days.). I have Sat & Sun, off (and probably much too communicado for those days). My personal "best" is -10F with a 12 mph headwind for a windchill of about -22F. I ride a bike with studded tires.

I'm a news and politics/economics junkie.

I'm chatty and am glad to discuss any of these interests. On these topics, I can go on and on, ad nauseum - especially in the winter when I spend more time inside. In the summer I can be hard to find. I see myself as someone who is enthusiastic and hope not to come across as a monomaniacal bore. LOL

Random Facts:

I'm a professional civil engineer.

I'm married with children.

I'm not as talented as I want to be...but then, I've never met anyone that is as talented as they want to be.

Living in Alaska, my Summers are filled with warm weather activities. Until I get a better internet connection to my cabin, from May through September, I may not be able to attend very many Summer performances. When Winter comes I cocoon in the warmth and comfort of my music room and enjoy the fabulous performances I find on Concert Window. C'ya then.
