I attended the past two of these shows at the Freight, but having a cold right now, had to stay home & watch it this way. I have to say I wasn't as thoroughly entertained this time. I'm sure comedy always benefits from the live energy of group audience responses. But I also felt that some of the humor was in poor taste. While bad taste humor can be very funny (e.g. most of what the Onion does) it's always a risk, requires insight and careful timing, and I just thought some of it was unfunny. I also felt totally embarrassed for the woman from the audience, who apparently had heard about none of the recent news stories in the "game show" segment. On a technical note, any time anyone was not speaking right into a mike, they were nearly inaudible. I had to stand next to the TV to hear anything at all, when anyone was off-mike.

In all honesty, I didn't hear all of it as I had a computer problem, but what I did hear wasn't very funny, and one "comedian" was simply coarse. I have heard Will Durst before and found him hilarious and witty. Maybe feature him, with just bits of the others?

I really found this show to be a bit of a bust, with the humor coarse or not really funny. Maybe it's not my taste? I didn't bother continuing to watch the remainder, so perhaps missed some good bits.

For the TWENTY FIRST consecutive year, Will Durst and his merry band of pranksters are proud to take their end- of- the- year comedy extravaganza to the Bay Area’s far- flung nooks and crannies bringing their hilarious New Year’s celebration to the people.

Starting the day after Christmas all the way through New Year’s Day, the troupe promises to lampoon, satirize, mock, scoff, scorn, taunt, tease, rib, ridicule, josh, jibe and kid the personalities and events of the past year and do it all with a modicum of taste.

The Big Fat Year End Kiss Off Comedy Show features a riotous collection of skits, sketches, songs and stand- up, all uproariously focused on the year of our Lord 2013. Some calendars are less conducive as subjects of humourosity, but what with the government shutdown, NSA run amuck, 2 popes and a website in the process of eating a Presidency, this year has been especially fecund. Lush like a tropical rain forest.

Continuing a holiday tradition as hallowed as the coal in Ted Cruz’s stocking and as welcome as an air freshener in the Bohemian Club’s outhouse following Chili Night, The Big Fat Year End Kiss Off Comedy Show consists of 6 comics, 7 cities, 8 shows and 2,347 laughs.
