YOU WILL BE CONVERTED! The music was 5 stars, maybe a hundred stars! (I've downgraded the concert to 4 stars because of the limited production values one gets with a web cam transmission (eg picture freezing and less robust sound--at least on my home computer...)) The music, and musicianship, was SUBLIME. These guys can really play! Often with virtuosic musicians such as those of the Rhythm Future Quartet, the musicality suffers at the hands of technical brilliance. That was not an issue with these musicians: they all played at the speed of light and with the creativity and originality of true artists. I don't have enough superlatives to describe the music. Give these guys a listen!

When four young jazz virtuosos decided to join forces, the Rhythm Future Quartet was born. Named after a Django Reinhardt tune, the Rhythm Future Quartet performs dynamic and fiery arrangements of Gypsy jazz standards and original compositions. The quartet features Boston-based violinist and Berklee College of Music Instructor Jason Anick, Olli Soikkeli and Vinny Raniolo on guitars, and Greg Loughman on bass. Over the years they have individually been performing alongside top Gypsy jazz/swing musicians like John Jorgenson, Frank Vignola, Bucky Pizzarelli, Andreas Öberg and Howard Alden and have finally joined forces to form this special group. The quartet recently recorded and released a live 4 song EP, receiving worldwide critical acclaim.
