Bio

I started playing the guitar at 58 and began writing songs 3 years later. I'm now 69. I don't do love songs because they are 1) cliched;
2) simple-minded; and 3) manipulative.

OK, there goes 98 per cent of the singer/songwriter lexicon. What DO I write about?

Since, at 69, I am quite aware that I'm not going to live forever I tend to focus on loss, loneliness,... more

Since, at 69, I am quite aware that I'm not going to live forever I tend to focus on loss, loneliness, frustration, family, faith, substance abuse, (not the evangelical brand), and love...not love songs, love. There is a difference.

I try to keep it interesting but these are not songs you'd want to party to. On the other hand they explore places where we're all eventually going to go, so why not take a preview?
