Katie Sachs is a singer-songwriter and community organizer who came into this world with a serious ear for music and relentless drive for social justice. Her voice has been described as having "a deliciously pure tone, with a calculated warble that displays a creamy melodic integrity." This, combined with complex melodies and vivid lyrical imagery, make her one of those artists that can silence a room before the first chorus. Her debut EP, "Places Not on Maps" was released in Greenfield, MA in 2012 to much local media attention and acclaim - earning her headlining gigs at such notable venues as The Dream Away Lodge, The Iron Horse and Club Passim.

In 2013, Katie continued touring the Northeast, and also expanded her musical endeavors to include her background as a community organizer. She was awarded several Massachusetts Cultural Council Grants to lead songwriting workshops at local community centers. She also co-founded The Woman Songwriter Collective - a group of fellow female artists committed to supporting each other's careers and rejecting the misogynist and capitalist business model of the main stream music industry.

After two years of attending the Kerrville Folk Festival and making connections with other up-in-comings in the Austin folk scene, Katie decided in the Fall of 2013 that was time to leave New England and spread her creative wings in the music capitol of the country. After a three-week cross country tour, Katie landed in Austin full - force! She continues to plant roots in the Austin music scene, while also making plans for national touring. After a successful Kickstarter Campaign, where she raised 120% of her goal, Katie has begun recording her much anticipated second album "The Giantness of Little Things." Involved in this project are such notable musicians as Wilson Marks (New Folks Finalist, The Sparrow Makers, The Loveleighs) Brannen Temple (Chaka Kahn, Bonnie Raitt, The Dixie Chicks) and Andrew Pressman (Raina Rose, Ben Kweller). This will be her most intimate work yet, where she tackles such ambitious topics as Golgi Apparatuses, break ups, the foster care system, and even includes an ode to her vocal chords.
