Matt Jordan is a nationally recognized songwriter from Eureka, Missouri currently living in Nashville, Tennessee. Matt recorded the ‘Nothing Like Home’ EP with grammy-nominated producer, Sal Oliveri and released it as a free download at www.noisetrade.com/mattjordan/nothing-like-home-ep.

Matt blends his storytelling lyrics reminiscent of Bruce Springsteen, The Eagles and George Strait with modern sounds similar to Kip Moore, Lee Brice and Eric Church. In a country music genre where lyrics have seemingly been second priority in recent years, Matt brings meaning into his songs while still implementing the catchy sounds we scan our radio dials looking for today.

The ‘Nothing Like Home’ EP kicks off with the title track, a song about the destruction of a small town in an over commercialized society. The album flows into ‘Over Me Tonight,’ an upbeat song that juxtaposes an ex lover moving on with her life while the singer is lonely in a bar, trying to get over her.

The EP is a dynamic musical adventure with slower, sweeter songs like ‘Stop the Sunrise’ and ‘Dancing in the Kitchen’ on the same track list as the darker rock anthem, ‘Smoke,’ one of the EP's strongest lyrics comparing a girl to a cigarette.

After just one year in Nashville, doors are opening up for Matt. He’s been writing with some of the best young talent in Nashville, found mentorship in Taylor Swift’s former manager and is honing his craft with one of the top vocal coaches, Kristin K. Smith. In the slow moving pendulum that is the music industry, Matt is making waves fast. Matt is currently planning a mini tour for the early months of 2015. Be sure to catch him on the road. His live show is one you won’t want to miss.
