For over four years now Trina and Ian have been performing, teaching, arranging and composing Irish and Irish-American Traditional and Folk music together, but they've been doing it separately their whole lives...

Trina Schyhol-Barksdale has sang and played fifes, flutes and penny-whistles ever since she was five. Steeped in the American Revolutionary War Fife and Drum Traditions of her native Milford, CT, she has spent her musical career exploring the deep and enduring roots and living connections of American and Celtic music.

Recording and performing extensively with many different ensembles, Trina has composed and arranged music for both Fife and Drum as well as American and Celtic Folk Bands. She loves teaching youth the joys of music and is masterful in conveying the techniques required for sound instrumental playing, as well as expressing musical passion.

Ian Barksdale was fed music in his highchair. Born in Philadelphia, a fiddler at age seven, he learned his music from his Grandmother's native County Tyrone, Ireland. She would play for the family and neighbors every Friday night in her kitchen. There would be dance, songs, stories and jokes all night long, in the true Irish fashion.

Ian has called Cape Coral and Lee County, Florida, home for nearly fifteen years now. Previously a longtime resident of New Hampshire, he has recorded several albums of Irish Traditional music over the years, both solo and with bands. A fiddler by trade, Ian also sings and plays tenor banjo and guitar.

Trina & Ian teaches, performs and are as comfortable in the pub or the kitchen as they are on the stage or in the lecture hall. They're always humble and happy to share and transmit the living traditions of Irish and Irish-American Music, Culture and Tradition with the world!
