Born in Kitchener and raised in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, Robbie Hancock is an Indy Folk Singer/Songwriter. You can find all of Robbie's current music and compositions on the music page of his website www.robbiehancock.com. Robbie is a multi-instrumentalist and has been honing his songwriting craft by attending workshops and festivals in Toronto, Nashville and Los Angeles since 2012 and including recent trips to Nashville this past April and Canadian music week in May of 2014. Robbie has also received FACTOR songwriting grants in both 2013 and 2014 in support of his hard work as a budding Canadian songwriter.
Robbie has recently placed his first song called "So Alone" in a Canadian short film called "Forget" directed by Jesse James Burton released in January 2014.
"So Alone" was a part of the 2011 album release "It's Never Too Late" which Robbie received two international album licensing deals with EOS and WOWLOUD. The song has also been played on Dave FM in his hometown of Cambridge, thanks to the support of this major radio station. The song "The Heart Of Scotland" has also been played on major radio AM740 on the show "A Little Breath of Scotland" in Toronto. The album's production, lyrical and melodic content, and Chris Rea/Johnny Cash like vocals have helped Robbie book a cross Canada supporting tour, and to be able to continue to earn a living as a full time musician and add to the past 7 years.
Robbie has recently been able to perform with some amazing recognized Canadian musicians in Kitchener such as Bob Egan (Blue Rodeo) and David Henman (April Wine). Robbie also had the opportunity to perform on stage with Rik Emmett (Triumph) as a part of an amazing songwriting workshop in Toronto called Songstudio.
Robbie also owns and operates a registered Ontario music business called Waterloo Wellington Music which covers music lessons, songwriting competitions, workshops, song evaluations and many other areas related to the music business. He also has run The Argus Music Festival since 2008 which is an annual fundraising event on his birthday weekend in which he raises funds with the help of local community to raise funds for The Argus Residence in Cambridge, a shelter for homeless teens. Robbie performs at many other charity events including Ride For Seeing Eye Dog events, Cancer Benefits, Hospice Fundraisers and Fundraisers for war Veterans.
Robbie is a very hard working musician and has the drive, determination and perseverance necessary to thrive and adapt in today's ever changing contemporary music industry. He hopes that he can share his passion for creating and recording his music with listeners from all walks of life.
