SERVING THE SONG SINCE 2011

Boardwalk Isabella is an independent English rock band with soul and groove formed in Devon, UK in 2011 and fronted by Singer Songwriter, James C Hughes, former New Wave bassist and session man.
Hughes spent the last 18 months writing, recording and producing their debut album, Headed for the Promised Land, to be released later this year on his own imprint Reconnection Records. The album was then mastered by Peter Maher, engineer to U2, The Rolling Stones, The Killers and The White Stripes, Depeche Mode, Kate Perry and many more..

Headed For The Promised Land is an incendiary mix of musical influences ranging from David Bowie, Free, The Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder, Creedence Clearwater Revival, T Rex, Steve Miller, Mott the Hoople, through to Chic, Jimi Hendrix, and The Beatles, but the sound is uniquely and powerfully their own.

Their first single from the album, Resurrection Man, was played to ecstatic reaction in 179 countries worldwide more than 50 times a day on a zero budget promotion, just the music talking.

Their 2nd single, The World Is A Mirror, mastered once again by Peter Maher, exhibits all the qualities of the band's debut release: rock, soul and groove played with passion and hallelujah brio, and repeated the radioplay success of Resurrection Man.

The 3rd single, Oh The Ground Was Hard has just been released and was welcomed into the world of rock by a rapturous response on the BBC.

Make no mistake, Boardwalk Isabella are coming for ya

The buzz for Boardwalk Isabella is building around the planet and the release of their new single will not only confirm the exciting promise of their debut release, but show the world that the band continue to be a thrilling, irresistible force to be reckoned with, built to last and definitely here to stay.
