Thanks, Quinn. Jim and I really enjoyed listening. One of the reasons Jim and I are together is our love of folk music. Our first date was to a folk festival in Kent. Jim still plays guitar; I gave it up years ago but love acoustic music.

Quinn Erwin, lead singer of the anthemic indie rock band Afterlife Parade, has never shied away from tackling intense subjects in his lyrics. He's written about awe, death, rebirth, and even the end of the world, his work always culminating to a celebration of life's complexity. But while AP is on a creative hiatus, he is ready to explore new solo artistic paths to let off some steam about the trials of growing up.

Erwin, a former full time teacher, decided to leave education after a profound moment with his students in the classroom. Erwin encouraged his students to follow their passions, yet didn't feel honest in this advice because music wasn't the priority he wanted it to be. With this realization acting as his creative driving force, Erwin made the move from Mississippi to Nashville, TN and formed the indie band Afterlife Parade. AP is known for emotionally charged music complimented by infectious choruses and has gotten positive reactions over the years from fans and professionals in the music business. AP has been recognized by Noisetrade as a New and Notable Artist, featured by popular Nashville radio station Lightning 100 as a Local Lightning Artist, and gained and maintained great success through licensing for various outlets like MTV, Hulu, Google, and many others.

Afterlife Parade's success has given Erwin the platform he needs to launch his arsenal of solo material. "I've had a batch of songs that have been cropping up the last few years while Afterlife Parade has been busy that don't quite fit the direction AP is headed, and now felt like as good a time as any to record and release them while the guys and I are slowly gearing up for our next project."

If the first initial single "Iron & Wood" is any indication, audiences can expect an energetic yet poignant full length album. Pulling from diverse influences like Peter Gabriel, Brandon Flowers, and HAIM, "Iron & Wood" gets the heart pumping as Erwin's infectious voice dances over the beat relating provocatively about the tension of love. While Afterlife Parade brings about the broader themes in life, Erwin's solo material can be described as more terrestrial. The imagery of the lyrics are intimate, but the music itself appeals to those that proudly wave their pop flag.

With each musical project, Erwin shows his ability for crafting songs that speak to the soul. His upcoming album is sure to please fans of Afterlife Parade, but it's safe to say he can hold his own as a solo artist.
