Show reviews

  • Five stars for Putnam Smith! Three for the warm up musicians. Alas, only two for the simulcast: my connection broke several times; the long breaks between the musicians was disconcerting; the highest volume was too low. Still, since I couldn't be there, was happy to have the link.

  • I very much enjoyed this performance. Early on Junior's microphone seemed too low in the mix but that improved. So much talent and I liked to watch how much fun they were having too. Chaney has an amazing way about her that grabs the audience and she carries those vocals well throughout the guitar and piano~drum segments to make it fit so well. Junior and Bill are amazingly talented guitar players and singers. Barry had the perfect rhythm on the drums with the varied songs of choice. Their album "And Still I Rise" is fabulous and refreshing! It's no wonder they sell out venues across the pond where they are well known. In the States they are making waves too. So happy to see more shows added so that people can become aware of these fine musicians. All of them have their feet in many directions and play with multiple artists. Support live music!

  • Music was great, light could have been better. For some reason the streaming stopped 1 hour and 20 minutes in the concert - so I didn't get it all.

  • We love Maia. She is a word smith to rival the best. So as far as we are concerned there is no such thing as a bad Maia Sharp concert. The sound was good. The static camera should be tighter and lower. We enjoyed Concert Window. A good value. It was our first time using this venue. I'm sure we will try it again. I was charged twice; my fault, I must have clicked twice. Don't use IE as a browser. Google Chrome or FireFox work fine. How do I get a refund or credit for the 2nd charge?

  • The show was great musically. I heard all my favorites and some new ones, great guitar playing. The visuals on the stream were mediocre, especially full screen, but the audio was decent. For $5, I will be back ;-)

  • Laura Cortese and her group were GREAT! For at-home viewers a long warm-up act isn't necessarily welcome. I suggest the approximate time of the performer's set be clear. Finally, there has to be technology for closer viewing. I rarely had good sense of emotion on performer's faces.

  • Video quality was pretty weak. dim lighting and low res.
But ... The music was a gas- lots of fun, clearly mixed and very well presented. Loved most all of the tunes. The instrumentals were especially captivating. Bravo.

  • amazing :)

  • Awesome to see these 4 young ladies tonight. Laura has a great voice and interesting lyrics. I hope this crew will come play out west.

  • Junior Brown did a great set. The Concert Window view was like having a deluxe balcony box seat to the right of the stage - better view than a live show! 'Also love that Junior Brown and the venue get extra revenue from my CW ticket price ($5 is an amazing bargain). I'll be back!

  • The show was great but the mix from the vuenue's soundboard was terrible - overwhelming bass guitar and Junior Brown's vocals were pretty much non-existent until 3/4 of the way through the show when the soud tech finally turned them up. (Not Concert Window's fault - this was all the fault of the venue.)

  • Junior Brown was Fantastic! Would definitely recommend. And Concert Window did a great job.

  • May have enjoyed it had the stream worked. Would have rated it 0 Star had the option been available.

  • Excellent first CW experience!!!

  • Great band that keeps getting better

  • This was a fun show of gypsy jazz music. Daisy Castro is a very good fiddle player.

  • Excellent,as always. Who was the opening act? she was very good, too!

  • Great audio, great video, and the band was superb! Thank you so much for allowing Concertwindow to broadcast this concert!

  • I enjoyed it, esp when Amy was on.

  • I thoroughly enjoyed the show last Saturday, though I thought the sound (via concertwindow) for Joe Walsh and Courtney Hartman's set lacked the clarity I would expect had I been seated anywhere inside One Longfellow Square. Also, the camera angle excluded any possibility of seeing Courtney actually playing the guitar. Nevertheless, I thank concertwindow.com for furnishing the opportunity to hear these two extraordinary musicians play and sing together. Joy Kills Sorrow was a real surprise: Classic bluegrass instruments and not a note of bluegrass music -- a demonstration of innovative contemporary music on these great instruments, supporting the powerful vocals by Emma and Zoe. I look forward to the recording.
